Two words: slot cars. In particular the American road cars of the '60s and '70s in 1:32 scale. The technique is of little interest to me, what really matters is the "soul". That soul is found in movies like Vanishing point, Duel and Bullitt. Tracks that tell stories, where there is always someone running, maybe escaping and someone else who chases. It may simply be a competition to see who is faster. The backdrops are slums, highways and industrial areas. Crumbling buildings, challenging roadways and streets, gas stations and motels are also set in the background. The main characters are people on the margins, with their precarious existences, and their muscle cars, evidence of times past.

Due parole: slot cars. In particolare auto stradali americane anni '60 e '70 in scala 1:32. La tecnica mi interessa poco, quello che conta è l'anima. E l'anima è quella di film come Vanishing point, Duel o Bullitt. Piste "slots" che raccontano delle storie, dove c'è sempre qualcuno che corre, forse scappa e qualcun altro che lo insegue. O semplicemente si tratta di una gara a chi è più veloce. I luoghi sono quelli delle periferie degradate, delle highways, delle aree industriali abbandonate. Edifici fatiscenti, strade dissestate, stazioni di servizio e motels fanno da sfondo. I protagonisti sono persone ai margini, con le loro esistenze precarie e le loro muscle cars, testimonianza di un tempo passato.

Zwei worte: slot cars. Insbesondere amerikanische straßenautos in den 60er und 70er jahren im maßstab 1:32. Die technik interessiert mich wenig, das was zählt, ist die seele. Und die seele ist, die in filmen wie Vanishing point, Duel oder Bullitt. Rennbahnen, erzählen die geschichten, wo immer jemand läuft, wo vielleicht jemand entkommt oder von jemanden anderen verfolg wird. Oder es ist einfach ein wettrennen um zu sehen wer schneller ist. Die standorte sind in den armenvierteln an peripherien, den autobahnen, verlassene industrieflächen. Verfallene gebäude, straßen, tankstellen und motels im hintergrund. Die protagonisten sind menschen von randgruppen mit ihren prekären existenzen und ihren muscle cars beweise für vergangene zeiten.

Deux mots : slots cars. Et plus particulièrement les routières américaines des années 60 et 70 à l’échelle 1/32. Peu m’importe la technique, ce qui compte c’est l’âme. Cette âme que l’on peut retrouver dans des films tels que Vanishing point, Duel ou encore Bullitt. Des pistes “slots” qui racontent des histoires, dans lesquelles on retrouve toujours un personnage qui fuit, ou qui s’échappe et un autre qui le poursuit. Ou bien il est simplement question d’une compétition pour determiner qui sera le plus rapide. Pour ce qui est des lieux: Banlieues pauvres, autoroutes, zones industrielles désaffectées.
Immeubles délabrés, route défoncées, stations services et motels plantent le décor. Les protagonistes sont des personnages en marges de la société, flanqués d’existences précaires et de muscle cars, témoignages d’un temps révolu.
